Famous fashion photographs by modern photographers will be on sale at a Christie’s London auction. ‘This is an opportunity to acquire some of the most important works of the history of photography, with works by 19th century masters, and a strong focus on post-war and fashion photography, led by the work of Irving Penn, Helmut Newton and Peter Beard,’ Christie’s told Daily Mail. Penn’s photographs can be yours for £15k to £90k.

Other highlights include Helmut Newton’s famous Self Portrait with Wife and Models from 1980 (estimated sale price of £70k to £90k) as well as his stunning 10th Floor Hilton, Paris (approx. £30k and £50k). After the Jewish photographer fled Germany during the war, at the age of 36, he landed his first job with Vogue.

Today, his are some of the highest valued photographs, with the likes of Peter Lindbergh, Burt Glinn and Richard Avedon. The Modern Photography auction will be on May 16 at Christie’s London.
